Feed-email & camera set-up

Basic set-up, first feed-email

When using a single camera, user needs to activate feed email address and give a name to the default camera. All images received via this feed-email are labeled with the given camera name (”default camera”).

Second Camera

Using more than one camera, best option is to use already existing feed email, but define and name different cameras using SEARCH STRING option. If search string is found in email, camera is defined in the feed accordingly. If search string is not found, Then the camera is defined by default camera name in feed (name without string)

Second feed-email

Using single feed-email address and Camera separation with search string is generally recommended. If needed, additional feed-email addresses and separate default camera names and strings can be  defined the same way as the first feed email was defined.

Name / string type

Camera name and search string must have minimum of 4 characters. Camera name can be a mix of CAPITAL and lower case characters, but SEARCH STRING is changed to CAPITAL letters only, and search itself is case-agnostic (BackYard & BACKYARD are both found with string BACKYARD)

Special cases

Most typical case is that email contains one or several individual images from a specific camera - and this is exactly what basic set-up supports. If you have a specific case, such as

  • Email contains series of images which are wanted be to seen in GIF format

  • Images on one email are from multiple cameras (case Cuddeback)

  • Email only contains a link to the image, not the images themselves (case Linckeazi)

these cases can be supported with special selections - more about these on separate page.

And then??

Next thing is to set-up your feed-email as target receiver email in your a camera, or auto-forward your emails from you receiving email account (e.g. Outlook or Gmail) to this feed-email, more detailed instruction on specific page). Note that also cameras sending mms messages can be typically set to send images to email-address (mms to email)
